IUCr Bursary Application –  Deadline extended:  September 24, 2024

The Organizing Committee is very happy to announce that the International Union of Crystallography also supports bursary applications from young early-career scientists to attend ISXB6. The bursaries will cover the accommodation costs for young scientists.

Prerequisites and required documents for bursary application:

  1. Early-career scientists are graduate students, post-graduate students, or post-doctoral fellows within five (5) years of receiving a graduate degree. Academic interruptions, including periods of parental leave, are taken into account.
  2. Curriculum Vitae containing name, work address and contact details, date of birth, citizenship, education background, employment history, current position, and a list of the applicant’s publications.
  3. Letter of Recommendation from the applicant’s Supervisor or Head of the Department/Group. The letter should confirm the applicant’s status (PhD student, post-doc).

Submitting an abstract to the ISXB6 as the presenting author is also mandatory. Incomplete applications will not be considered. Young scientists who have applied for a bursary can, if they wish, pay the Registration fee (Early Bird) no later than one week after receiving the decision on their bursary application (for dates, please see below).

How to apply
Applications for bursaries must be sent by email to isxb6@hkd.hr and mario.cetina@ttf.unizg.hr. The applicant will receive a notification of the receipt of the application.

Deadline for application
The deadline for the bursary application is extended to September 24, 2024. A representative of the Bursary committee will email you the decision on your application by September 30, 2024. You must accept or decline the provided bursary support by no later than October 4, 2024. Acceptance of the bursary support implies registration and attendance at the meeting.

CCDC Bursary Application  –  Deadline extended

The Organizing Committee is delighted to announce that Cambridge Crystallographic Data Centre will also support bursary applications for early-career researchers to attend ISXB6. The support will cover a part of the accommodation costs for several early-career researchers.

Prerequisites and required documents for bursary application:

  1. Early-career researcher with a maximum age of 35 on October 25, 2024,
  2. A Curriculum Vitae should include the individual’s name, work address, contact information, date of birth, citizenship, educational background, employment history, current position, and a list of the individual’s published works.
  3. Letter of Recommendation from the applicant’s Supervisor or Head of the Department/Group for students and postdocs.

Please ensure to keep in mind the following information:
Submitting an abstract to the ISXB6 as the presenting author is mandatory, and incomplete applications will not be accepted. Early-career researchers who have applied for a bursary can pay the Early Bird Registration fee within one week of receiving the decision on the bursaries (for dates, see below).

The deadline for applying for the CCDC bursary is September 11, 2024. A representative of the Bursary committee will email you the decision on your application by September 16, 2024. You must accept or decline the provided bursary support by no later than September 20, 2024. Acceptance of the bursary support implies registration and attendance at the meeting.

ECA Bursary Application

General information

The Organizing Committee, thanks to ECA, provides a limited number of bursaries for young scientists to attend ISXB6. The bursaries will cover, partially or completely, the accommodation costs for several young scientists.

Prerequisites and required documents for bursary

  1. Ph.D. student or postdoctoral fellow from the ECA “region”, working at a public university or research institution with the maximum age of 35 on October 25, 2024.
  2. Individual Membership of the ECA is a condition of the award for a bursary. Applicant for financial support should be also registered in the IUCr World Directory of Crystallographers.
  3. Curriculum Vitae containing name, work address and contact details, date of birth, citizenship, education background, employment history, current position, and a list of the applicant’s publications.
  4. A Letter of Recommendation from the applicant’s Supervisor or Head of the Department/Group. The letter should confirm the status of the applicant (PhD student, post-doc).

It is also mandatory to submit an abstract to the ISXB6 as the presenting author. Incomplete applications will not be considered. Registration

The minimum information we need to register you is your name, email address and a password. We will ask you more questions for different services, including sales promotions. Unless we say otherwise, you have to answer all the registration questions. This also allows us to personalise services for you. If you log-in to our sites using a twitter log-in, we receive your avatar (the small picture that appears next to your tweets) and twitter username.

Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act Compliance

We are in compliance with the requirements of COPPA (Childrens Online Privacy Protection Act), we do not collect any information from anyone under 13 years of age. Our website, products and services are all directed to people who are at least 13 years old or older.
